Meet Louis in a Career Interview
Hello, my name is Louis Chaillou, and I’m a Back-End Development Engineer at Coexya, working within the SIP entity. I’m based at the Paris office.
Can you tell us a bit about Coexya’s SIP entity?
The SIP entity at Coexya specialises in intellectual property. Our main goal is to develop applications that enable clients—many of whom are based abroad—to manage their intellectual property. We provide solutions for managing patents, trademarks, designs, and more.
What is your role?
I’m responsible for the back-end of the application. The back-end is the part of the application that isn’t visible to the user—it’s essentially the logic behind the application.
The application is divided into two main parts:
- The front-end, which is the user interface that clients interact with.
- The back-end, which is the “invisible” part where most of the work happens, containing the application’s logic.
My role involves a lot of coding but also significant reflection. I need to adapt to the requirements of the front-end and the UX (user experience) teams. My work can be split into two main aspects:
- Planning and problem-solving: Thinking through how the application should function.
- Development: Writing the code itself.
It’s behind-the-scenes work that’s critical to the application’s functionality.
Why would you recommend joining Coexya?
