Meet Mattéo, RPA Developer
Hello, my name is Mattéo, and I’m 22 years old. I studied web development for three years and, after returning to Rennes, I was contacted by Coexya in February 2023. I’ve since joined the company as an RPA developer.
What does RPA mean to you?
For me, RPA (Robotic Process Automation) is a way to make employees’ work easier by automating tasks that are time-consuming, repetitive, and often tedious.
What technologies are used in RPA?
In our team, we mainly use UiPath, a software tool that automates user actions without requiring a keyboard or mouse. Behind UiPath, there’s programming in VB.Net or C# (C Sharp). Additionally, we’re starting to explore Microsoft Power Platform, which recently underwent a significant revamp and is gaining traction in the market. We’re keeping up with the trend.
Can you describe your main responsibilities?
As an RPA developer, my primary responsibility is development. We receive project briefs from the Business Analyst, analyse the documents, and then create the robot. Alongside development, we also produce supplementary documentation. Once development is complete, we go through two testing phases: an internal test phase and a test phase with the client. After deployment, we enter a maintenance phase to address any issues that may arise with the robot.
What is your current project?
My current project is for another department. It involves automating a document transfer process between two platforms, which was previously automated but no longer is. My goal is to reintroduce automation using a new approach. I retrieve the document, reformat it, and then the robot takes over to process and finalise the formatting. It’s an interesting and unique project compared to others I’ve worked on, offering a new perspective on automation.
What do you enjoy most about your daily work?
Three things come to mind:
- Team atmosphere: Everyone gets along really well. We share common interests, help each other out, and have a strong sense of camaraderie.
- Modern offices: The facilities are recent and well-maintained, which allows us to focus entirely on work without worrying about our environment.
- Project variety: RPA projects are very diverse, so we’re constantly learning new things and avoiding routine—a major plus for me.
What’s life like in the RPA department?
Life in the RPA team is excellent. As mentioned earlier, the team dynamic is great, with mutual support and a welcoming culture for newcomers. We ensure no one is left stuck or isolated. When someone new joins, we work to integrate them quickly.
Outside of work, we organise plenty of activities, both within Coexya and elsewhere, including sports, shared interests, and social outings like having a drink in town.
How is the RPA team organised?
Our team’s organisation operates on several levels. Three times a week, we hold 15-minute morning meetings, known as dailies, where we review the previous day’s progress, discuss any roadblocks, and plan the day ahead.
Every two months, we have a retrospective meeting to assess project progress, check in with the team, and address any organisational issues. These meetings aim to improve both our work and our processes.
What would you say to a candidate considering joining Coexya’s Rennes office?
If your priority is to feel fulfilled in your work and look forward to starting your day, don’t hesitate—give Coexya a try. I’m confident you’ll want to stay.
