Meet Victoire, CSR Project Manager at Coexya
Hello, I’m Victoire Canovas, a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Project Manager on a work-study programme at the Coexya group for the past year. Alongside this role, I’m completing a Master’s degree in Socio-Economic and Environmental Responsibility of Organisations at the IAE in Lyon.
What is CSR?
Corporate Social Responsibility is an approach that integrates economic, social, societal, and environmental considerations into a company’s activities and strategies. It’s a proactive effort aimed at respecting and contributing to our ecosystem, promoting the common good, and reducing environmental impact. CSR involves implementing concrete actions within the company, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions or establishing policies to enhance quality of life and workplace conditions. It also encourages employees to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives and to reconsider consumption habits.
What are your responsibilities at Coexya?
My role is to lead the CSR projects defined by the CSR committee. I oversee the implementation of our action plan across four key areas.
Firstly, in the area of governance, we structured our CSR strategy with an initial plan covering the 2022–2023 period. We identified the sustainable development goals (SDGs) most aligned with our priorities and activities, defined our purpose, developed our materiality matrix, drafted our CSR manifesto, and published the latest version of our CSR report.
In 2024, we’ll focus on preparing internally for the implementation of the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and continuously improving our Ecovadis rating, which has already increased by 5 points this year, reaching a score of 66 out of 100. We are proud of this achievement, which places us in the top 7% of companies in our industry evaluated by Ecovadis.
In terms of workplace relations and conditions, as a service-oriented business, we prioritise training and improving employee well-being. For example, we introduced an environmental awareness module for all employees through our Coexy’Academy.
On the environmental front, we have always championed electric mobility and, by the end of this year, we’re implementing the sustainable mobility allowance to take it further. We’re also transitioning to renewable energy providers, completing carbon assessments for our new subsidiaries, and renewing the assessment for the group’s historic scope.
Regarding business ethics, Coexya has adhered to ISO 27001 standards since 2019, ensuring the protection, improvement, and performance of information management systems. This year, we’ve decided to go further by revising our business ethics code and supplier code of conduct in line with Sapin II legislation.
Throughout the year, I ensure compliance with relevant regulations and manage both internal and external communications across these themes.
What are the medium- and long-term CSR goals?
Some examples of our 2024 goals include:
- Achieving a minimum score of 69 out of 100 in our next Ecovadis rating.
- Welcoming nine career changers and three interns undergoing reintegration.
- Maintaining at least 5% of our workforce as apprentices.
- Powering at least 90% of delivery points and metering points with renewable energy.
- Working on eco-design by developing a training pathway for our employees.
- Continuing our responsible purchasing efforts by creating guidelines for partners and employees.
